Founded in 1955, the university is a highly-ranked Catholic university that consistently enjoys a spot in the top 15 Catholic colleges nationwide by Forbes and the top 10 Catholic colleges in the West by U.S. News & World Reports. UD’s summer programs for gifted high school students ranks in the top 20 in the nation.
The University of Dallas is recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution under Title V of the Higher Education Act.
The university has two campuses: the Irving campus, located in a suburb of Dallas/Fort Worth, and the Eugene Constantin campus, located south of Rome, Italy.
The Irving campus facilities include the award-winning Church of the Incarnation recognized by the American Institute of Architects, the J.M. Haggar University Center, the Cowan-Blakley Memorial Library, seven residence halls, student apartments, and the Maher Athletic Center, which houses 15 men’s and women’s NCAA III varsity sports. The campus has its own stop on Dallas' Rapid Transit (DART), allowing students to easily reach downtown Dallas and DFW International Airport in about 15 minutes.
The Rome campus offers a unique semester abroad to sophomores, melding education and travel to the locations they study as part of their Core curriculum. The campus includes housing and even a functioning winery.
